-Training for Myanmar Logistic Providers-

- In January 2008 at the Mekong-Japan Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Japanese Government pledged to implement the Program consisted of various assistant programs to improve efficiency of logistics and distribution in the Mekong Region through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF).
- As a part of such Program, the training program for Myanmar Logistic Providers is to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, and the opening ceremony of the Training programs took place on October 5th.
- This training program is to be implemented by not only Japanese relevant parties but also Thai counterparts as a development partner in Mekong Region.
To be more precise, this training program will be implemented by Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and Thai International Freight Forwarder Association (TIFFA) with concerted efforts. Myanmar logistic Providers will take various training courses by Thai logistics experts, and also are to given chance to visit the logistics facilities such as Inland Container Depot.
- Japanese Government will continue to support the effort to improve efficiency of logistics and distribution in the Mekong Region under this Program by implementing Function Enhancement Project for Customs Clearance, Project for truck terminal improvement and Development Project for Roadside Stations and Appurtenant Facilities, other than Human Resource Development Project as this training course.
