Emergency Grant Aid in Response to COVID-19 in Thailand
On August 3, the Government of Japan decided to extend the Emergency Grant Aid of approximately 1.8 million US dollars to Thailand. Through UNOPS, in response to the current surge of COVID-19 infections in Thailand, 775 oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients will be provided to Thailand.
Japan has been supporting Thailand which is facing COVID-19 crisis with donation of 1.05 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, provision of cold chain equipment needed for vaccine transportation and storage as well as support for strengthening diagnosis systems and developing drug treatments.
As a “Strategic Partner” to Thailand, Japan will continue to extend support for the efforts of the people and Government of Thailand to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
