Additional donation of COVID-19 vaccine from Japan to Thailand

On September 3, the Government of Japan decided to donate 300,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Thailand. The vaccine will arrive at Thailand on September 8.
With 1.05 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated in early July, the total volume of the donated AstraZeneca vaccines from the Government of Japan to the Government of Thailand will be approximately 1.35 million doses.
 
Japan has been supporting Thailand which has been facing the COVID-19 crisis by the donation of vaccines as well as provision of 775 oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients, provision of cold chain equipment needed for vaccine transportation and storage, and support for strengthening diagnosis systems and developing drug treatments.
 
As a “Strategic Partner” to Thailand, Japan will continue to extend support for the efforts of the people and Government of Thailand to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
