Donation of COVID-19 vaccine to Thailand (Fourth donation: 400,000 doses)

     The Government of Japan is additionally donating approximately 400,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine (AstraZeneca) to Thailand as a part of its contribution to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 in Thailand. The vaccine is scheduled to arrive in Thailand at midnight on October 15.
 
     With this additional support, the Government of Japan has donated approximately 2.05 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Thailand. Previously, 1.05 million doses of vaccine arrived in Thailand on July 9, 300,000 doses arrived on September 9, and 300,000 doses arrived on September 26.

     Japan, in addition to vaccine donation, has been supporting Thailand through various forms of cooperation to a total amount of approximately 20 million USD, including the donation of 868 oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients and the provision of cold chain equipment needed for vaccine transportation and storage. 

     As a “Strategic Partner” to Thailand, Japan will continue to extend support for the efforts of the people and Government of Thailand to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
