Winner of the Logo Competition on the Occasion of the 130th Anniversary of Thailand – Japan Diplomatic Relations

The Embassy of Japan in Thailand hosted the logo competition on the occasion of the 130th Anniversary of Thailand – Japan Diplomatic Relations from July 15th to September 15th, 2016. The Embassy of Japan in Thailand is pleased to announce the winner of the aforementioned event. We are pleased that there were many Thai and Japanese interested in our competition, with a total of 110 entries.
We had a special committee comprising representatives of both the Thai and Japanese Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Related Organizations to select the logo. We are proud to announce that the logo designed by Mr. Masahiro Takahashi, resident of Tokyo, has the highest score and has been selected as the winner.

The winning design is a perfect combination of the unique symbols of Thailand and Japan, namely, elephant on the Thai tri-color flag background and a Sakura flower on the Japanese “circle of the sun”. The outline shape of the logo also resembles the symbol of infinity (∞), which represents the endless friendship between Thailand and Japan.
The winner will receive 2 return air tickets from Japan to Thailand from Thai Airways International.
